Springs are sized to the weight of your specific door, so a heavy insulated double costs more to fit than a light single. High-cycle springs cost more up front and last roughly twice as long, which is usually the better buy on a busy household. We fit them in pairs.
A standard sixteen-by-seven double is the cheapest thing in the catalogue because everyone makes one. Oversized, arched or non-standard openings mean a made-to-measure door, and that is a genuinely different number.
In Miami-Dade and Broward an impact-rated door built for the High Velocity Hurricane Zone is the baseline. In Palm Beach County the required rating varies with distance from the coast. This is often the largest single factor in a new door price.
Near the water, galvanized springs and stainless cables cost a little more at installation and save considerably more than that in early replacements. Inland, standard hardware is usually the sensible choice.
A basic chain drive, a quiet belt drive, a wall-mount jackshaft for a garage with no headroom, battery backup, Wi-Fi — each step adds cost and each one solves a specific problem. We match the unit to the door weight and how hard the garage gets used.
A tight garage, a low ceiling, a jamb that needs reinforcement before an impact-rated door can be anchored properly, or an old opener that has to come out first — all of it is labour, and all of it is visible in the written quote before you agree.
